Wellbeing

Wellbeing, for me, is not one big achievement. It comes from a few simple things I want to return to regularly, both for my body and my mind.

Physical wellbeing

Exercise

Be active. It does not always have to be a structured workout. Walking, stretching, or any movement I enjoy can help me stay consistent.

Eat well

Choose nutritious food from the many varieties available. I am vegetarian, so I want to find healthy food that I also genuinely like rather than treating eating well as a restriction.

Sleep enough

Give the body enough time to rest and recover. Sleep is not time taken away from the day. It supports the energy and clarity needed for everything else.

Mental wellbeing

Meditation

Create a little space between myself and the constant movement of thoughts. I use Sadhguru’s Miracle of Mind app to practise meditation.

Prayer

If I believe that something greater is looking after me, I do not need to carry every worry alone. Prayer can offer trust, perspective, and calm when I cannot control an outcome.

Family time

Nothing can replace time with family. Nobody knows and loves me in quite the same way. Being present with them gives me a kind of comfort and belonging that is difficult to find elsewhere.

What I want to remember

Physical and mental wellbeing support each other. I do not always practice all of these perfectly. I want to keep returning to movement, nourishing food, rest, stillness, faith, and the people who make life feel like home.
